Being part of congregational life at Lakeview Church means that we’re connected together as a church family and we minister to one another.
This brochure outlines how you can get involved in the life of this congregation in practical and helpful ways.
We have included guidelines for the time commitments involved so that you can choose a ministry team that suits you and your schedule.
TeleCare
Ministry Team
Team members gather at the church one Monday a month to make a friendly phone call to members and adherents, then meet together as a team and pray with confidentiality for any concerns expressed.
(1.5 hrs per month)
Baptism
Ministry Team
Volunteers set up and serve at the potluck meal prior to baby dedications/baptisms.
(2 hrs twice yearly)
Volunteers assist behind the scenes at the dedication services.
(1 hr twice yearly)
Volunteers assist with the adult classes and behind the scenes at the baptism services.
(2 hrs twice yearly)
Communion
Ministry Team
Communion is served once a month during weekend services.
Volunteers prepare for communion by setting up and cleaning the elements.
(2 hrs per month)
Volunteers can purchase communion supplies.
(1 hr per month)
Couples Mentoring Ministry Team
Couples married over ten years are partnered with an engaged couple. Training will be provided. (1 year commitment to meet at least 2 times with the engaged
couple.)
Altar Prayer
Ministry Team
Team members are available after each week-end service to pray with and for individuals, couples or families who have specific concerns.
(1 service per month)
Visitation Team
Team members provide friendly visits to our seniors and make some hospital visits. Training will be provided.
(1—1.5 hr. a week as needed)
Funeral Reception
Ministry Team
Volunteers are able to help in a variety of ways. Serving volunteers set up, prep for the funeral reception and clean up after.
(1.5—3 hrs)
You can also volunteer to donate food such as cheese plates or dainties or fruit.
(Upon request)
Volunteers can also purchase supplies in preparation for funerals.
(1 hour)
