PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES

Community of Prayer
An important part of who we are at Lakeview is prayer. One of the ways you can keep up-to-date with the people and situations that need prayer here is to subscribe to our E-mail Prayer List. All you need to do is send an e-mail to
lakeviewprayer-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and reply to the confirmation e-mail. You will then be signed up to receive weekly prayer requests sent out to the Prayer List by the church office. If you have a prayer request you would like included on the Prayer List, please either call Tracy Janzen at the church office at 374-6556, ext. 0, put your request on a Communication Card, or e-mail officeATlakeviewchurch.com. Let's remember to lift each other up in prayer.

SUMMER DAY OF PRAYER
Thurs, August 7 - next Day of Prayer

The monthly Day of Prayer will continue over the summer. Prayer initiatives are available at the Information Centre, or sign up to receive them by email by contacting the church at officeATlakeviewchurch.com. Please continue to pray for Lakeview Church over the summer months.

GIFTS & OFFERINGS

Stewardship is about surrender. Surrendering ourselves to Christ. Returning our money, our time, our talent, to its rightful owner - God. When we come to believe and understand that all we are and all we have are "on loan" from God, are gifts from God, we are then ready to use them for His purposes and His glory. For many people, getting to this point is a long process. It doesn't often happen overnight. And often the lesson needs to be relearned as we earnestly seek to be Christ-like.

CARE MINISTRY

CURRENT NEEDS LIST:

TEEN CHALLENGE

The following is a list of items currently needed at the Teen Challenge Saskatchewan Men's Centre. If you are able to donate items please drop them off in the Care Ministry area at Lakeview Church, marked "Teen Challenge": shampoo, disposable razors, toothpaste, deodorant, hand soap.

BAG HUNGER
We continue to see a rise in requests for emergency food hampers. The food pantry is becoming pretty sparse. We have lots of soups but have need for all other items including toiletries. Please pick up a yellow BAG HUNGER bag from the church Lobby and return filled to help us meet community needs quickly and efficiently.

MEALS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for people who love to cook or bake to become part of our Meals Ministry team. Cooks and bakers can sign up for email requests whenever meals are needed for families that are experiencing grief or illness, or for families that are bringing home a new baby. You can bake and cook as often as you are able. Meals and baking are collected and delivered by the Meals Ministry leaders, so you can just bring your food to the church when you come! If you have any questions or would like to sign on as part of the Meals Ministry, please email Shelly at careATlakeviewchurch.com, or call 374-6556, ext. 244.

CARE NETWORK
The Care Network was created to supply a quick response when there is a need to be met in our community. As needs are made known to the Care Ministry - such as a ride to the doctor, a meal made or delivered, or assisting someone buying a pair of work boots - we send an email out to the Care Network, and those that are able to meet that need can respond. To be a part of this important network, simply email careATlakeviewchurch.com and indicate your willingness to be on our email list. Then just respond to any email you are able to help with, and someone from the Care Ministry will contact you. For more details, contact Shelly at 374-6556, ext. 244, or careATlakeviewchurch.com.

MISSIONS WORK GROUP
The Missions Work Group is accepting aluminium pie plates and pop tabs, band-aids, toothpaste & toothbrushes, sewing notions, lightweight fabric for quilt blocks, used whole envelopes with stamps, and Campbell's labels. There are drop-off bins for these items in the Power Hour Gallery as well as at the Lobby Info Centre.

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS OR FURNITURE
We will not be able to accept household items or furniture without prior confirmation from the Care Ministry. Please call Shelly at 374-6556, ext 244, for approval or a list of agencies that can use these items.

PRISON MINISTRY
If you have a copy of "A Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren that you are willing to donate, please drop it off at the church for the Prison Ministry. Barb Ashmeade leads groups of men through this book throughout the year at the Provincial Corrections Centre in Saskatoon, and is always in need of more books as new men join the groups.

TRAVEL SIZED TOILETRIES
As you travel this summer, think about donating some travel-sized toiletries to the Care Ministry or to a local agency such as the YWCA or Salvation Army Men's Shelter. Often people show up for shelter without the basics such as soap, shampoo or toothbrush, so it is valuable for these agencies to have a steady supply on hand to give out. You can drop off donations at either agency or at the church and we will deliver them for you.
